  I am a self-taught artist. I have a background in mechanical engineering but needed to become a SAHM when my medically complex daughter was born. During that time I have rediscovered creating and have challenged myself by self-publishing a number of books. 

Historically, I have always been drawn to simple pen & paper when I create.  More recently I have been defaulting to my iPad & Apple pencil. Both still have their place depending on my desired outcome and mood.

I started drawing anatomical hearts when my daughter was born. She needed her first open heart surgery at 11 days old, another open heart surgery at the age of one and yet another at two years old.  Her heart is something she will need to monitor her whole life. Drawing was my way, as her mom, to try to cope.
